Book City Franchise

Each year, Book City carries out extensive television, press, catalogue and radio advertising. Over the years massive amounts of money have been invested in promoting the Book City name. The Advertising & Marketing contribution of 2% of turnover is a royalty paid by all Franchisees and used by Book City to advertise and promote the group. This is done by way of catalogue production, promotional activity planning, production of display material and many other areas of promoting the group as a whole. The Franchisee is responsible for advertising in the local area by using the materials, media and methods which have been designed and produced by Book City. For instance, Book City produces a catalogue and the Franchisee chooses to purchase a quantity direct from the printer (for the cost of the printing only). The Franchisee then distributes the catalogue by whatever means he chooses, at his expense. Through group advertising, Franchisees receive benefits that would normally cost many times more than their individual contributions.
